Best Albums of the 2010s

We’re already six years into the 2010s, so I thought it would be a good time to list my favorite albums of the decade, so far anyway. This is a tentative list, so as I hear new things and change my mind on other albums the  list list will be update. I’ll try to do it regularly,  but at the very least I’ll add new albums to it at the end of each year. (more…)

2011 NL MVP: The Rise, Fall, and Possible Resurgence of Ryan Braun

The 2011 National League race to the Most Valuable Player award was not without controversy, as Milwaukee Brewers’ Ryan Braun won a close battle with LA Dodger Matt Kemp. While Braun’s statistics were undoubtedly high (33 HR, 111 RBI, 41 SB), Matt Kemp outdid him in virtually every category (39 HR, 124 RBI, 41 SB).  (more…)

2011 AL MVP: How Justin Verlander took over the league.

2011 was an amazing baseball season for American League hitters.  With Jose Bautista, Jacoby Ellsbury, Miguel Cabrera and Curtis Granderson all knocking 30 balls out of the park and driving in over 100 runs each,  the race for the AL Most Valuable Player award was bound to be a heated one.  However, with so many similar stories between the four athletes, it’s safe to say that MVP voters we’re searching for someone who stood out from the crowd of hitters.  Who they found was Justin Verlander, a man who dominated the other candidates both on the field and in the media.
