Adele was way under the radar in 2008 when the Grammys propelled her into the spotlight. On her sophomore album 21, she showed everyone what she could really do. “Rolling in the Deep” and “Someone Like You” are huge hits that could be played on oldies stations 20 years from know, and the truth is if you replaced them with any other song on 21, they would be just as popular. But that in itself is the album’s only flaw; 21 is way too one-dimensional, and if you aren’t a fan of breakup songs or piano driven ballads you’re out of luck. But if that’s what you’re into, you’ll listen to it over and over again, because there’s no doubting the raw vocal and lyrical talent that’s present here.
